CarSite Verdict:  4/5
As a family car this model ticks all of the right boxes. It is stylish with alloy wheels and a leather interior whilst safety measures makes travelling in the vehicle as secure as possible for the driver and passengers. The car may be quite costly to tax and insure but its running costs are efficient with a small level of fuel consumption. Its CO2 emissions are what let this vehicle down the most at 175g/km.

PROS:  This vehicle has a lot of power and potential and is efficient to run too. The car has a host of features to make the driving experience more enjoyable and comfortable for both the driver and passengers. For instance, the car comes with Alcantra/leather seats to make travelling inside the car both stylish and comfortable. The car has airbags in the most effective places, and Bluetooth and MP3 connectivity are standard features.

CONS:  This car produces large amounts of carbon dioxide at an astonishing 174 g/km. As a result of its high levels of pollution the car is in road tax band H, which is considerably more expensive than the standard model of car. The car is also in the mid-range section of insurance so the costs for drivers of this vehicle are not cheap.

Behind the Wheel

This vehicle has a top speed of 133 mph couple with fast acceleration which takes 8.6 seconds to travel from 0-62 mph. This is thanks to the car's strong power output of 196 bhp which combines with 309 lb-ft of torque to give this car lots of strength on the road.

The handling and steering are of a high quality with plenty of feedback on offer. There is also plenty of grip on the road and body roll is all but absent during corners and bends. The suspension also does a good job of cushioning imperfections in the road.

Looks & Equipment

This cars exterior appearance is enhanced with alloy wheels as a standard feature of this model, but it can look even more unique as there is an option for the car to be painted in metallic for an additional £545.

The interior of the car has added comfort and luxury as drivers and passengers can enjoy the luxury of Alcantra/leather seating. The car does come with exciting extras such as MP3 connectivity, and Bluetooth at no extra cost making in car entertainment all the more enjoyable. Cruise control is another standard feature that will make long journeys more smooth and comfortable.

Rear parking sensors are another standard feature designed to increase security and practicality whislt navigational systems, such as a built-in sat nav, are only available for a cost of £1,300.

Climate control is offered instead of the more basic air conditioning.

Practicality, Safety & Reliability

Practicality is high within this model thanks to ample space within the car. The boot offers an impressive 2,000 litre capacity when the seats are folded down with a more moderate 285 litres of space available when they are upright. Head and legroom are ample throughout the cabin and this means the car accommodates five adults with ease. Those sat in the third row will have to be children however as space is more limited in here - as with most cars of this class.

In terms of security, the car is well secured and there are plenty of features on offer. Driver, passenger and front side airbags are all fitted as standard features and the car also comes with a fitted alarm and other security features such as central locking. This gives customers confidence in their vehicle and ensures the car and its occupants are kept safe at all time.

The car is also coveredby a three year warranty for 60,000 miles. This provides assurances over the reliability of the car and makes it a great option for those interested in long term ownership.

Value for Money

The Ford C-MAX Titanium X Sport 2.2 TDCi 5dr is available from £30,595 and whislt this is a lot of money the car has plenty of offer with great features for entertainment, safety and security.

On top of this it is fairly practical for a seven seater and manages to offer far better comfort and space than other cars in this class. Running costs aren't terrible considering the size and weight of the car with fuel efficiency of 42.8 mpg representing relatively good value for money. Insurance costs are fairly mid-range under insurance group 26. Carbon emissions are perhaps the biggest let-down of this model at 174 g/km, placing it under road tax band H.
