BMW Z4 Overview

The low-slung driving position gives this car a really sporty feel when you’re behind the wheel, and the engines give the performance to match. As you’d expect the engineering is second to none, ensuring that you can wring every ounce of power out of the 3 and 2.5 litre petrol engines. The Drive Dynamic Control allows you to alter steering and throttle control to suit your driving needs, and ability. An M Sport version is also available if you’re looking for even more performance.
Buyers will not be able to overlook the car’s high level of build quality and cabin refinement, and despite its compact size cabin space is remarkably good. As is expected with the folding hard roof, boot space is not abundant, however sports cars aren’t generally renowned for their practicality.

The seamless, flowing curves of this convertible will ensure you stand out from the crowd, and its beautifully designed, sleek exterior matches the craftsmanship of the interior.

Background

Although the Z4 was produced as replacement for the Z3, it is a completely redesigned successor. It is significantly larger and heavier, than the Z3. First produced in 2002, it was initially only available as a roadster, before a coupe model was introduced in 2006.

The second generation was released in 2009, and rather than offering both the hard and soft-top variants, there is only a retractable hard-top model available. It takes approximately 20 seconds to transform the sleek coupe into an open-top roadster, which has removed the need for two separate models.  The new model is longer, wider and heavier than the original, taking it further away from the Z3 which it was designed to replace. It is also the first roadster to feature iDrive, a technology initially developed for the 7 Series.

Summary

The BMW Z4 is a sleek and stylish sports car, with the build quality and reliability the manufacturer has become famous for. The range of sporty engines gives the car real poke, and the handling matches the impressive performance.
