Is a standard Smart car just a little too manly and butch for your tastes? If your answer to this question is yes, then the Smart Forjeremy could be the perfect car for you.
The Forjeremy is the result of a collaboration between Smart and American fashion designer Jeremy Scott. Scott has designed costumes for such pop luminaries as Madonna, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, but the Forjeremy, thankfully, is his first foray into the world of automotive design.
Apparently, wings are Scott's trademark, which explains the enormous fibre-glass extensions protruding from the Forjeremy's rear. The wings light up to act as the car's brake lights, which is handy, and must surely seriously obstruct rear three-quarter vision, which is not.
Further 'design features' include alloy wheels which Smart claims look like aeroplane propellers -- they don't -- and headlights which have been given 'eyebrow' design details.
Step inside the Forjeremy and you'll think you've walked into an alternative universe in which everything is designed by Kerry Katona -- we are talking tacky. You get white leather upholstery with chrome detailing and an aircraft-like steering wheel which must be the most ill-advised attempt to crowbar an aeronautical design feature into a car since Saab's infamous 'Night Panel'.
And just when you thought the Smart Forjeremy couldn't get any less appealing, Smart has announced that it will be fitted with an electric drivetrain. On the plus side, we think a limited range in a car like this is a positive feature; after all, you wouldn't want to drive it too far, would you?
Smart claims that the Forjeremy could be put into production as a (hopefully very) limited production model next year.
