Peugeot has released teaser images of a new supercar concept which will debut at the Paris Motor Show later this month.

Named the Onyx, the new concept is the latest in a long line of futuristic Peugeot show cars such as the EX1 electric racer.

These cars never actually make it into production; however, the Onyx is important as it may offer clues as to Peugeot's future styling direction.

Under the bonnet, the Onyx is believed to be fitted with Peugeot's hybrid all-wheel drive system which uses a petrol engine coupled to an electric motor to power one axle, and a secondary electric motor to power the other.

Peugeot has yet to reveal details of the Onyx, but we'll keep you informed of any developments in the run-up to the concept's Paris debut.
