Peugeot has released the first official photographs of its 2008 concept, ahead of its Paris Motor Show debut.

The 2008 was originally shown as the HR1 at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, and as the SXC Concept at the Shanghai Motor Show last year.

The 2008 is a compact crossover which will rival the Nissan Juke when it reaches showrooms in June 2013.

Peugeot has yet to reveal the full details, but expect the 2008 to come with a 110bhp turbocharged 1.2-litre three-pot engine.
