Lexus is preparing to reveal a new turbocharged version of its LF-NX luxury compact crossover concept at the Tokyo Motor Show.

The LF-NX was first revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September; however, while that model was fitted with a 2.5-litre petrol hybrid drivetrain, the new car gets a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit. Lexus claims that this gives the car a lower centre of gravity.

On the outside, Lexus has given the LF-NX a new front spoiler which is said to it a "sportier" appearance, but apart from this the concept remains aesthetically unchanged. The exterior is still a rather discordant blend of features we may or may not see on future production Lexuses.

Inside, the LF-NX gets a Remote Touch Interface controller with a new touchpad function through which the car's infotainment systems are controlled.

The new LF-NX will be revealed at the Tokyo Motor Show on 20 September.
