Maserati has revealed its new GranTurismo MC Stradale ahead of the car's debut at the Geneva Motor Show.

And the big news is that, while the old MC Stradale was a strict two-seater, the new model is much more practical. Okay, so it's hardly exactly a Ford Galaxy, but Maserati has managed to squeeze in a couple of rear seats which should be big enough for children and small adults.

Underneath the bonnet, the MC Stradale gets a 4.7-litre V8 engine which develops 460bhp and 376lb-ft of torque, giving a 0-62mph time of just 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 188mph.

On the outside, there's a new carbon-fibre bonnet with a central air intake, two rear extractors and new forged 20-inch alloy wheels fitted with Brembo carbon-ceramic brake discs.

But the car's key feature is, of course, that achingly beautiful body which Maserati claims is inspired by the firm's Trofeo racing cars. We can't wait until we see it in the metal.

The MC Stradale will join the new Quattroporte on the Maserati stand at the Geneva Motor Show next week.
