Abarth has revealed the prices of its new 695 Maserati Edition.
The model will cost £32,000 when it goes on sale in the UK at the end of the year and just 499 Maserati Editions will be produced.
The Abarth is fitted with a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine which develops 180bhp and 184lb-ft of torque. That means 0-62mph in less than 7 seconds and a top speed of more than 140mph. Thankfully, the chassis has been engineered to handle the extra power and you get 17" alloy wheels and Brembo brakes to make sure the Abarth stops and steers as well as it goes.
The Abarth is finished in Pontevecchio Bordeaux (red, to you and me), and on the inside you get sand beige leather seats, carbon-effect dashboard and gearbox trim, and a smattering of 695 badges.
The Maserati Edition gets a manual gearbox which is electronically operated via buttons on the black leather steering wheel, and you also get aluminium pedals and sills and a carbon-fibre kick plate embossed with custom graphics.
So, if you're after a pointlessly expensive luxury city car and were considering an Aston Martin Cygnet, your decision has just been made a little harder.
