McLaren has revealed a one-off bespoke version of its new 650S Coupe.
The new car is the work of McLaren Special Operations (MSO), the elite band of 50 engineers who were responsible for the mad McLaren X-1 concept we showed you back in 2012.
Unlike the X-1, however, the 650S Coupe isn't quite that bonkers. MSO has given the car a variety of styling tweaks, including a carbon-fibre rear diffuser and side blades, a GT3-inspired rear bumper, a carbon-fibre airbrake and satin black engine covers.
Inside, there are carbon-fibre racing seats similar to those found in the P1. Finished in black leather and sitting lower than the seats fitted to the standard 650S, the new chairs also lop 15kg off the car's kerb weight.
On top of this, the whole car is finished in a special 'Agrigan Black' paint job, which is infused with ruby red metallic flakes.
According to a statement from McLaren, "the MSO 650S Coupe Concept is presented as a one-off design study, and MSO is monitoring reaction regarding any potential production examples." However, buyers are able to spec the new MSO side blades and rear diffuser on the standard 650S at a cost of £5,114 and £7,245, respectively.
