Hyundai has released the first teaser image of its new HCD-14 premium concept, which will be unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show next week.

Details are scarce on the new HCD-14, but Hyundai claims that the new model will "give the automotive world a glimpse into future Hyundai premium vehicle design, advanced 3-D gesture-based technology controls, and spirited driving dynamics."

The HCD-14 is the latest in a line of 14 concepts to emerge from the Korean firm's California Design Studio, which started with the HCD-1 in 1992. The new concept is thought to preview the new Genesis saloon -- a car which is not currently sold in Europe.

But if the public reaction to the HCD-14 is positive, it is possible that Hyundai could offer the new Genesis to UK buyers for the first time.

The new HCD-14 concept will be unveiled on 14 January at 8pm in Detroit.
