Citroen has released pictures and details of its new DS Wild Rubis concept car, the latest addition to its luxury DS line, ahead of the car's debut at the Shanghai Motor Show.
The DS Wild Rubis, which was teased by Citroen in a rather ambiguous black-and-white video earlier this week, previews a new model which is set to rival cars such as the Audi Q5 and the BMW X5.
Measuring 4.7m in length, 1.95mm in width and 1.59m in height, the Wild Rubis has a 2.9m wheelbase and sits on enormous 21-inch wheels. It's slightly lower than its competitors, but Citroen claims that the car's chrome roof bars "accentuate the impression of height."
At the front end, the Wild Rubis gets a huge chrome grille and full-LED headlights, while at the rear both the taillights and the twin exhaust pipes are encased in chrome.
The car is finished in a striking ruby red -- rubis being the French word for ruby -- paint colour, which changes with the intensity of light.
Citroen has yet to release any details of the Wild Rubis' oily bits but has announced that the car will be powered by full-hybrid plug-in technology.
We'll bring you more details of the Wild Rubis when the car makes its debut at the Shanghai Motor Show next week.
