BMW has released the first official images of the new X4 Concept, ahead of the car's debut at the Shanghai Motor Show later this month.
The concept previews a production version of the X4 which is set to make its debut early next year; however, the concept appears to be realistically-styled and could easily enter production with very few, if any, aesthetic tweaks.
Designed to fit into the BMW X range between the existing X3 and X5, the X4 shares its 2810mm wheelbase with the X3 but is 34mm wider and a full 53mm lower.
We'd have to say that the X4 is substantially better looking than the X6 -- although, then again, what isn't? And if it's anything like its bigger brother, it'll be an absolute peach to drive too.
BMW has yet to release any real pricing or specification details on the X4, but given that the X6 costs around £2,000 more than the equivalent X5, it stands to reason that the X4 will be around two grand dearer than the equivalent X3, with prices starting from around £31,000.
