This Mini can do 0-62mph in less than two seconds and, over 400 metres at least, is faster than the world's fastest production car, the Bugatti Veyron.

Stuart Meads of Essex bought the car for £500 more than fifteen years ago and has since spent £95,000 turning it into a 700bhp monster.

In fact, Meads's Mini has held the title of 'World's Fastest Mini' for eleven years.

However, despite its blistering performance credentials, the Mini is totally road legal and Meads admits that he regularly uses it to pop down to the shops.

And on top of this, it's a Mini -- Britain's most beloved car. So stick that in your pipe and smoke it, Bugatti.
