Welcome back to Video of the Day, our daily look at the best motoring-related videos the internet has to offer.

It's a well-known stereotype that all Americans are stupid; however, based on the evidence you'll see in the video below, it's also a fairly accurate one.

This old railway bridge has been standing precisely 11ft and 8in above Gregson Street in Durham, North Carolina, USA, for the last one hundred years. Unfortunately, your average American box truck is just ever-so-slightly taller than 11ft 8in. Low bridge, tall truck, silly American at the wheel: it's a recipe for disaster.

Of course, there are numerous signs warning drivers about the upcoming low bridge and there's even a device which flashes a bright yellow light at the driver if a sensor detects that the vehicle is too tall. But for one reason or another, drivers continue to ignore these warnings and plough straight on into the bridge.

Luckily, a chap by the name of Jurgen Henn quickly saw the comedic potential in videoing these mishaps and has been doing exactly that since 2008. Below you'll find a sort of 'Greatest Hits' compilation of some of the bridge's most amusing accidents.
