Vauxhall has announced it will introduce an estate version of the VXR8. The VXR8 Tourer will become the third model in the VXR8 range, alongside the saloon and the Maloo pick-up truck, and is the fastest estate car in Vauxhall's history.
Powered by a 425bhp 6.2-litre V8 petrol engine, the VXR8 Tourer will hit 60mph in 4.9 seconds and is capable of reaching an electronically-limited top speed of 155mph. The power is sent to the rear wheels via either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox, and both a limited-slip differential and launch control are included as standard.
But don't think that the VXR8's impressive performance compromises its practicality. With an 895-litre boot, the VXR8 is actually the most capacious estate car on sale today. With the rear seats down, 2000-litres of luggage space is on offer.
Standard kit includes leather HSV sports seats, 20-inch alloy wheels and Vauxhall's Enhanced Driver Interface infotainment system.
The VXR8 Tourer is available to order now, with prices starting from £49,500.
