Vauxhall have announced the launch of a new iPhone app designed to help drivers keep track of their business mileage.

Called RoadTrip, the iPhone app can be download from the App store now by searching for 'Vauxhall RoadTrip', and Vauxhall hope that the app's smart features will help company car drivers calculate and create mileage claims much more quickly and easily than before. The app will save time by creating a library of favourite journeys and locations, negating the need to keep re-entering the same information.

Vauxhalls are huge sellers in the company car sector, and the manufacturer claims that this new app is tailored towards company car drivers more specifically than other smartphone apps used to calculate business expenses.  Vauxhall say RoadTrip is designed to shorten the working day for business drivers by reducing the time spent on end-of-day administration.

Entering a destination in the app will allow it to calculate route, mileage rates, costs, and other expense details in advance. RoadTrip will even generate preview expense reports, which can be e-mailed as CSV files for submission.  Essential data can be backed up, with protected passwords, and can also be accessed on other devices.

Vauxhall's Fleet Marketing Manager Steve Catlin explained, "When travelling on a daily basis, recurring expenses can cause frustration for employees. The RoadTrip app combines navigational tools with smart calculation software to offer an easy-to-use app for any employee on the road."
