Toyota will unveil its vision for an efficient future at next month's Geneva Motor Show.

Called the FT-Bh, short for Future Toyota B-segment Hybrid, Toyota's new concept is designed to have the space of a five-door supermini, and produces around 50 per cent less CO2 than current models in the class.

Part of the Toyota brief for the new FT-Bh concept was to utilise existing technologies and production methods as much as possible. The design was focused on reducing weight, and improving aerodynamics, powertrain efficiency, thermal energy management, and electricity saving. The Toyota FT-Bh is powered by a reduced-size full hybrid power train. It weighs less than a three-door Toyota Aygo too, at just under 800kg.

Toyota will give the FT-Bh its first public showing at the Geneva Motor Show on 6th March.
