Ahead of the final announcement of the winners of its Garage of the Year 2012, Motor Codes has given details of some of the UK’s most nominated garages.

Voting for the competition, which has run since 2010, doesn’t officially close until April 22, but results of some of the most trusted garages in regions such as the South East and South West have already been published.

Those garages in the South West with a fighting chance of gaining a top spot in the completion include: Brunel Ford, Weston-super-Mare; MRG Volvo, Chippenham; Protyre, Plymouth; Protyre, Gloucester and Protyre, Poole.

In the South East the garages who have made it into the current top 50 include: Mot City Wokingham Central Auto Centre, Orpington; Anglo Continental Cars, Milton Keynes; Mount Pleasant Mot Centre, Bexhill on Sea and SK Automotive Engineers, Freshwater.

Commenting on the prize Chris Mason, Managing Director at Motor Codes, said: “The main purpose of Motor Codes is to point motorists in the direction of responsible businesses, committed to our transparent customer service guidelines. We want people to be able to choose where to trust their car with confidence and what better way to make people aware of consistently good businesses than letting customers shout about the good guys?”

In the East of England, nominated garages include Roy Tolley Citroen, Colchester; Grants SEAT, Braintree; Barrett-Lee, Sudbury, Motorsales Harlow Vauxhall, Harlow and Marshall Chrysler Jeep Dodge, Cambridge.

The competition, organised by the provider of OFT-approved codes of practice for car service/repair and new car sales, is judged using a combination of submissions made to a panel of industry experts, customer votes, free-text comments, and RAC inspections.

Voters will also be able to scoop their own prizes including: tickets to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone and one year of free servicing worth up to £1,000.
