With the Wimbledon men's semi-finals taking place today, and a Brit in with a chance of making it to the final, we thought we'd size up the cars of the Wimbledon semi-finalists and see if their skills on the tennis court match their choice of motor.
Andy MurrayAndy Murray is clearly a man who knows what he wants from a vehicle. He's currently the proud owner of a Jaguar XKR convertible, having previously owned an Aston Martin DB9 and, before that, a Ferrari F430. We hate him. Unless he gets to the final. Then he's forgiven.

Roger FedererRegarded by many as the greatest tennis player who has ever lived, Roger drives one of the best cars ever made -- the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. The SLR McLaren can get from 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds and on to a top speed of 209mph thanks to its 5.4-litre supercharged V8.

Novak DjokovicThe current world number one has a number of cars, many of which he has won in tennis tournaments. It is not clear what he drives day to day, but when an interviewer asked him what his favourite car was, he responded "Anything German." Fine, a 1970 VW Beetle it is.

Jo-Wilfried TsongaLike Djokovic, Tsonga has a similarly shady motoring past. In an interview in 2008, he claimed that he didn't own a car and often just drove his mother's. We find this odd for a man whose career earnings stand at almost $9 million. However, he's a fan of Aston Martins, and we wonder whether he'll be splashing out on a new Vanquish. |
