Research by the Discovery Channel has shown which cars rocketed in value over the last decade.
Tonight’s episode of the popular motoring show ‘Wheeler Dealers’ is a landmark edition in which they feature their 100th car. To mark the occasion the team have picked out twenty of the most desirable and valuable classic cars.
They have revealed that someone who bought a Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 in the year 2004 would have seen their investment balloon in value by 669% today. Prices have rocketed from £65,000 to a massive £500,000.
Second and third in the line-up were the DB5 and DB6 by Aston Martin which have seen increases of 500% and 478% respectively. Series I Land Rover owners can feel safe in their investment as the classic British vehicle has risen in value from £6,000 to £20,000 over the last decade.
The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow also features in the list of twenty, it is however the only member of that list to have lost value over the ten year period. It fell from £12,000 to £8,000.
A Discovery Channel spokesperson said: “From the much coveted Aston Martin DB5 to the humble Fiat 500, classic car owners across the UK are sitting on a small fortune, thanks to the boom in the vintage car market over the last decade.”
