'What impact could a drink have on your night out?' This is the question asked by the latest harrowing public information film from the Department of Transport's 'Think!' campaign.
The film, created by ad agency Leo Burnett London, shows three unsuspecting men washing their hands after using a pub toilet. Just when they're about to leave, a mannequin smashes through the mirror in front of them, complete with fake blood, to presumably mimic the sight of a pedestrian smashing through your windscreen.
The film, entitled #PubLooShocker, is designed to warn of the perils of drink-driving and has caused quite a stir, clocking up more than four million hits on YouTube since it was uploaded last Thursday.
You've got to admit that the sight of a bloodied, lifeless mannequin hurtling towards your face after you've been for a lash is quite an unnerving one, and for this reason you'd have to assume that the pub-goers in the video are actors.
If a member of the general public was to be confronted with such a sight, they would most likely either suffer a massive heart attack, defeating the campaign's purpose of saving lives, or evacuate their bowels, increasing the likelihood of them having to drive home, pissed, in order to change their trousers.
