If you cast your minds right back to last August, you might remember us telling you about the Transition, a genuine, bona-fide flying car from an American company by the name of Terrafugia.

Truth be told, we were slightly sceptical of the Transition's chances of taking off (if you'll pardon the pun -- the same pun, in fact, that I used last year), largely because futurologists have been talking about such things for decades and nobody has ever come close to building a viable flying car.
Well, it looks as if we're about to nip down to the pie shop and ask for a large slice of humble, because the Transition has just made its first public demonstration flight at the EAA AirVenture Expo in Wisconsin, USA.
As you can see, the Transition drives, takes off, flies and lands with aplomb, with absolutely nobody being horribly maimed or killed in the process. Which is good.
Unfortunately, the example you see in the video is the second of three prototypes rather than a production model and the Transition won't go on sale until 2016 when it will cost £183,000 -- around the same price as a Ferrari 458 Italia.
So, if it was your £183,000, which would you pick?
