Stoke City F.C managed Tony Pulis has escaped a driving ban after claiming that the club could be relegated if he lost his licence.

Pulis was snapped doing 96mph in a 60mph limit in his Beemer. Under the tot-up system, this offence gave the Stoke boss twelve points, making him liable for a ban of between three and six months.

Pulis said, "[Stoke] would suffer if they were relegated as a result -- and the children who he would not be able to assist and the people of Stoke could suffer if Mr Pulis lost his licence."

Hmmm... we're not convinced.
