Skoda has unveiled its new Octavia Scout ahead of the car's debut at next month's Geneva Motor Show.

Skoda claims the Octavia Scout is a "robust all-rounder," featuring a raised ride height, all-wheel drive and rugged, SUV-inspired looks.

Based on the Octavia estate, the Scout features black bumpers with silver-coloured off-road attachments, along with a wide air intake and new fog lights. The door sills and wheel arches are clad in black panelling and 17-inch alloy wheels are included as standard.

Skoda has also increased the car's ride height by 33mm compared to the standard Octavia. Inside, there's new three-spoke multi-function leather steering wheel.

Underneath, the Octavia Scout will be available with two diesel engines and one petrol, which Skoda claims are 20 per cent more economical than before. The power is sent to all four wheels trough a Haldex-5 coupling which Skoda claims increases traction by 25 per cent, improving the car's climbing power.

The Geneva Motor Show begins on 6 March.
