The Skoda Octavia vRS will become the only model in the Skoda range to wear the vRS badge following Skoda's decision not to replace the Fabia vRS when the new Fabia goes on sale next year.

Skoda claims the poor sales figures were the behind the decision to axe the company's small hot hatchback, which has been on sale in the UK since 2010.

Buyers, however, will still be able to spec their cars with the Fabia's Monte Carlo pack which gives the car the look of a vRS but without the performance enhancements. The Monte Carlo pack includes a range of gloss black exterior details, black 17-inch alloy wheels and smoked headlights.

The new Fabia is expected to go on sale some time next year, slotting into the Skoda range between the Citigo and the Rapid. It will be the third incarnation of the Fabia following the original model which was launched in 1999 and the current model which hit the roads back in 2007.
