Sir Alex Ferguson has banned his young Manchester United footballers from driving Corvettes, just weeks after the announcement of a new sponsorship deal between the club and General Motors.

As a goodwill gesture following the £210million seven-year deal, Chevrolet told the Manchester United team that they could have their pick of any car from the Chevrolet range.

Understandably, none of the players chose the Cruze, instead opting for the legendary Corvette.

Unfortunately, Sir Alex decided that no player under the age of 23 could have a Corvette. This, we feel, is probably a wise move on Fergie's part -- after all, we all know what happens when you give a supercar to a footballer.

This leaves the under-23s with a choice of seven cars: the Spark, the Aveo, the Cruze, the Orlando, the Captiva, the Volt and the 6.2-litre V8 Camaro.

Hmm... tricky one.
