Renault has announced the pricing and specification details for the new Scenic line-up, with the new Scenic XMOD crossover joining the traditional line-up of five- and seven-seater models.

Prices for the new Scenic start from £17,995, with XMOD models costing the same as their standard Scenic equivalents.

The entire Scenic range gets a revised front end to bring the model in line with Renault's new corporate image, with a larger Renault badge set against a gloss black background.

XMOD crossover models get unique wheels and chunkier front and rear bumpers. In addition to this, the XMOD also comes with black roof bars and mud and snow tyres.

Renault's new traction control system, Grip Xtend, also comes as standard, allowing the driver to choose between three different modes -- Road, Loose Ground and Expert -- via a rotary dial on the centre console.

The Scenic is available with a choice of three petrol engines: a 1.6-litre with 108bhp, a 1.2-litre with 128bhp and the same 1.2-litre unit with 113bhp. In addition to this, there are two diesels: a 1.5-litre unit with 108bhp and a 1.6-litre powerplant with 128bhp. Both of the diesel models will top 60mpg thanks to stop-start technology.

The Scenic XMOD is available in two trim levels: Expression+ and Dynamique TomTom, whereas the standard five- and seven-seater Scenics are available in Dynamique TomTom guise only.

Order books for the new Scenic and Scenic XMOD are open now.
