Stuck for something to do this Valentine's Day? Well, it looks like MG has a solution.

Yup, forget Paris city breaks, expensive jewellery and romantic meals out, what your significant other wants this Valentine's Day is for you to whisk her away to one of Britain's most beautiful cities -- Birmingham.

Not only does Birmingham have more miles of canal than Venice (most of which flow through areas of significant economic deprivation) but it is also home to the MG Sales Centre in Lowhill Lane, Longbridge.

And if you book a test drive this Valentine's Day, MG will give you a box of MG-branded chocolates for free. That's right -- you can offer your lover a delicious treat while simultaneously reminding her about the decline of the British motor industry. What red-blooded woman could resist?

Dave Clark, a Sales Executive at the MG Sales Centre, said: "The chocolates, like our cars, are rather special and we are hoping to get lots of visitors and requests for test drives.

"Who knows, we may even get a proposal in the showroom on Valentine's Day. We can't provide the ring or flowers but we do have the delicious chocolates."

However, if you do plan on taking your beloved to the MG sales centre, we feel it's only right that we offer you this advice: Not all women are particularly interested in the introduction of the new DTI-TECH diesel engine to the MG6 range and you could find yourself becoming single quite quickly.

But, never fear, that just means you can enjoy the box of delicious MG-branded chocolates all to yourself!
