Nissan has released a teaser image of the new Resonance concept, which will be unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show next week.

Nissan describes the Resonance as "the latest in a series of crossover designs from Nissan, fusing bold styling with a hybrid-electric powertrain."

The concept also shows the styling direction Nissan is taking with the next-generation Murano SUV.

The new Murano is due to go on sale in 2014 but it is unlikely that it will be sold here in the UK for fears it would steal sales from Nissan's luxury division, Infiniti, and its new range of QX SUV crossovers.
