Nissan and Ministry of Sound have teamed up to create the Juke Box -- the most powerful sound system on the road.

Nissan has created the Juke Box by cramming a 19-kilowatt 'rig' into a Juke and plans to debut the creation at the Le Mans 24 hour race today. The Juke Box is louder than a Boeing 747 at take-off thanks to its 18,900W sound system and, at its peak, the system can deliver a sound of over 150dB.

This got us thinking. What is the biggest and most pointless sound system ever fitted to a vehicle?

There's a competition called dB drag racing in which the participants vie to produce the loudest sounds from their vehicles. Whoever gets the highest decibel reading is, of course, the winner. The sounds produced are so loud that contestants are not allowed to sit in their vehicles when the test is being carried out to prevent injury. Yikes!

We've prepared a little amuse bouche of the most pathetic sound systems we could find. Let us know what you think and upload your own images to our photos section if you think you can do better.

Okay, so this last one isn't technically a car stereo, but you have to admire this kid's tenacity. You've also got to admire the fact that he clearly doesn't mind looking like a berk.
