A car measuring just 45.2cm in height has entered the Guinness Book of Records as the world's lowest roadworthy car.
The 'Mirai', which means 'future' in Japanese, was officially confirmed as the world's most vertically-challenged motor by officials who measured the car's height from the ground to the vehicle's highest point.
But despite the Mirai's diminutive size, it is fully road legal and is powered by six batteries supplied by CQ motors in Japan. It was created by teachers and students of The Automobile Engineering Course of Okayama Sanyo High School in Asakuchi, Japan.
Thanks to its ability to go straight under toll booth barriers, the Mirai is the ideal car for anyone who regularly travels on the M6 Toll. Well, it would be if it ever makes into production. Which it won't.
It'd also be an ideal car to take into a multi-storey car park. In fact, the more we think about it, the more we're convinced that the Mirai is the perfect vehicle for Britain's beleaguered motorists.
Just don't try and take it over a speed bump...
