This is the McLaren 12C Can-Am Edition, the most powerful McLaren MP4-12C yet.
The Can-Am is based on the MP4-12C GT3 racer; however, McLaren has no plans to race it and the Can-Am is therefore exempt from the strict regulations imposed on racing cars.
McLaren's engineers have been busy under the Can-Am's bonnet, and have managed to extract an impressive 630bhp from the car's 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8. In addition to this, McLaren has used its F1 knowhow to increase the 12C's downforce by 30% using a carbon fibre front splitter, carbon fibre dive plane winglets, and a ginormous carbon fibre rear wing. That's a lot of carbon fibre.
McLaren has also added a roll cage, racing seats and six-point harnesses but, despite the additions, the Can-Am weighs in at just 1,200kg (around the same weight as a MINI).
The Can-Am is finished in McLaren Orange in tribute to the cars of Bruce McLaren and Denny Hulme which helped the team carve out a name for itself during the 1960s and 1970s.
The Can-Am will be revealed at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in California this weekend.
