This week’s Paris Motor Show will see Kia showcase improvements made to its popular Rio model.
The signature tiger-nose grille has been given a redesign, as have the front bumper and fog lights. Further enhancements to the Rio range include three new alloy wheel designs, in 15, 16, and 17-inch formats. There are also a brace of new paint finishes, Urban Blue and Digital Yellow, which are to be included in an increased colour range.
The Rio has been given an interior makeover with chrome detailing around the four dashboard air vents, and a freshly-designed centre console surrounding the audio system. A new DAB digital radio will be fitted as standard on UK models, and also available in the 2015 Kia Rio will the latest Audiovisual Navigation system with a 7.0-inch display and processing speed.
Economy has been enhanced with the announcement that all engines in the Rio range will be available with Kia’s second-generation Start/Stop technology, advanced alternator control, upgraded starter motor, and low-rolling resistance tyres.
The new specification Kia Rio should hit UK showrooms next spring.
Michael Cole, CEO of Kia Motors Europe said: “The Kia Rio was our best-selling vehicle worldwide in 2013, with a total of 471,000 sales, and among our top-three sellers here in Europe with 56,821 units delivered. Improvements to this model are of major significance for our brand. The Rio retains the core attributes that have proved so popular with owners and enhancements to the 2014 model include a slight visual makeover, giving it a fresh exterior and interior look.”
