The new James Bond film, Skyfall, is almost here, and what better way to celebrate the return of 'Bond, James Bond' than by buying one of 007's cars?
The 2008 Aston Martin DBS used in the opening sequence of Bond's last outing, Quantum of Solace, is going up for auction next month at Christie's in South Kensington.
The Aston is expected to fetch between £100,000 and £150,000 and, while we're not going to argue that this is cheap, it's significantly less than the £180,000 you'd be paying for a brand new DBS. That is, a DBS that hasn't been driven by James Bond.
And while the DBS is expensive in comparison to a similarly-aged non-Bond DBS -- you can pick up an early model for a smidge over £70,000 -- we feel that the car's impressive provenance justifies the inflated price tag.
James Bond's DBS goes up for auction at Christie's on 5th October, with all the proceeds from the sale going to Barnado's.
