Images of the new Honda Urban SUV have been leaked online ahead of the car's debut at the Detroit Motor Show this week.
The production version of the Urban SUV will be based on the same platform as the next-generation Honda Jazz, which is expected to replace the current model in the next two years. The Urban SUV is likely to go into production shortly after the new Jazz.
As you can see from the images, Honda has put a heavy emphasis on aesthetics in designing the new Urban SUV. It is unclear how closely the production version will resemble the concept but it seems likely that many of the concept's styling features will be retained.
It's too early to comment on the mechanicals of the Urban SUV, but expect the car to share many, if not all, of its engines with the forthcoming Jazz.
The Urban SUV will join the Nissan Juke, the Vauxhall Mokka and the recently-announced Renault Captur in the small SUV market when it goes on sale; and although Honda has yet to release any pricing information, expect the base model to cost around the same as its rivals, with a starting price of around £13k-£14k.
