The Audi Quattro driven by Gene Hunt in the BBC television show Ashes to Ashes is up for auction on eBay.
The red 1983 example of the legendary Audi all-wheel drive coupe was used in sixteen episodes of the eighties-based show, which ran for three series between 2008 and 2010. In the show it was driven by the lead character DCI Gene Hunt, played by Philip Glenister.
Currently, the bid stands at £12,300 despite the fact that the car is peppered with 'bullet holes' which it sustained in the show's final episode. Good Audi Quattros can sell for upwards of £20,000 but this example's celebrity provenance could see it selling for much more.
The car is one of two Quattros used in the series and was bought by the current owner, who works for the company who originally supplied the car, after filming had ended. Replacement doors had to be added after the writers of the show requested a bullet-ridden door each as a memento and the bullet holes have been coated with lacquer to inhibit rust.
The car has not had an MOT since 2009 but has done just 117 miles since then. The seller states that it in the right hands it could be returned to the road.
