Having made its big-screen debut in the film version of 'The Sweeney' last month, the Ford Focus ST has been turned into a real-life police car, which should put the fear of god into the hearts of ruffians and scallywags all over Britain.
If you've seen the film, you'll know that the Focus ST makes the perfect police car, the ideal motor in which to chase 'geezers' around London and, of course, drive through gratuitous piles of cardboard boxes.
While the car used by Messrs Regan and Carter was a black unmarked hatchback, the real police ST is an estate decked out in the full cop-car livery.
The one-off demonstrator is the creation of Ford's Special Vehicle Preparations (SVP) unit and is designed to meet the latest National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA) standards for uber-fast police response vehicles.
With a 0-62mph time of 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 154mph, the Focus ST is undeniably fast; however, we can see a problem -- the ST is on sale to the public, so Dixon of Dock Green will have to hope that the crims haven't got an ST too.
So here's a BuyYourCar top tip: If you're planning on robbing a bank, buy a Focus ST.
The Ford Focus ST is available now, with prices starting from £21,995 in unused notes.
