Ford has reunited with legendary engineering company Cosworth to show a one-off version of the Focus ST at the SEMA tuner show in Las Vegas.

The Cossie ST is fitted with the same 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine as the standard car; however, Cosworth's engineers have upped the power output to from 247bhp to 330bhp by enhancing the engine control parameters, optimising the exhaust and induction systems and improving the engine's thermal management.

The Cosworth ST's exterior is the work of an American company by the name of M&J Enterprises, and while a little on the garish side, we'd have to say that the car successfully evokes the big and brash Ford Cosworths of the 1980s and 1990s.

The alliance between Ford and Cosworth has produced cars such as the Escort RS Cosworth (left) and the Sierra RS Cosworth.

The partnership between Ford and Cosworth dates back to 1959 when Cosworth began manufacturing race-tuned versions of the old Ford Kent engine. Cosworth later had a hand in the development of the Mk1 Lotus Cortina and, of course, lent their name to the legendary Sierra Cosworth and Escort Cosworth models.

There's nothing we love more here at BuyYourCar than a fast Ford, which is why it's so good to see Ford and Cosworth collaborating again. Unfortunately, the Focus ST Cosworth is just a concept car and it's unlikely that it'll make it into production.
