The first Rolls-Royce capable of hitting the magical tun will star at the Goodwood Revival Earls Court Motor Show from 16th to 18th September.

The 1911 'Experimental Speed Car', dubbed the 1701, is currently undertaking a re-enactment of the 1911 London to Edinburgh Top Gear Trial along with 17 vintage Rolls-Royce Silver Ghosts. The cars set off from the Royal Automobile Club on Pall Mall yesterday.

The 1701, wearing the registration R-1075, will be joined on the stand at the Earls Court show by a new Phantom Drophead Coupe. Rolls CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös said of the pair: "The company ethos - 'Strive for perfection' - has remained the same for over 100 years and is embodied in these two exceptional motor cars."

The Goodwood Revival 'Earls Court Motor Show' begins on Friday and ends on Sunday.
