Fiat will unveil their new 500L mini-MPV at the Geneva Motor Show next month. Fiat has released the first official photos of the new car.
Buyers will be able to choose between three engines - the 1.3 MultiJet diesel, a 1.4 litre turbo-petrol and the Twin Air two cylinder engine first seen on the regular 500.
In case you were wondering, the ‘L’ stands for ‘Large’ and the 500L is designed to replace the old Multipla. Fiat claims that the 500L will offer the practicality of a small MPV and the feel of an SUV.
The new 500L replicates the old Multipla's 'cab-forward' design. This puts the passenger compartment right forward over the front axle in an attempt to maximise efficient use of interior space.
Although clearly styled after its smaller cousin, the 500L somehow lacks the style and charm of the smaller car. One thing it doesn’t lack, however, is space. The new car will be offered with either five or seven seats and is 414cm long, 178cm wide and 166cm tall.
You’ll be able to buy one at the end of the year with prices starting from around £13,000.
