Fiat diesel passes 4 million mark | Industry - Car News Feb 2011

The four millionth Fiat 1.3-litre 16v MultiJet engine was produced last week at Fiat’s factory in Bielsko Biala, Poland.

The engine has been produced in various versions since 2003 and was the first common rail diesel engine produced by the Italian manufacturer. It has won widespread acclaim since its introduction and has also bagged a number of awards including 'Engine of the Year' (1.0-litre to 1.4-litre) at the International Engine of the Year awards in 2005.

The engine currently powers the Panda, Qubo, Punto Evo and 500 models and develops between 75bhp and 95bhp depending on the configuration of its turbocharger.
