The full pricing and specification details for the 2012 model of the Fiat Punto have been announced today.

The Fiat Group Automobiles UK has announced the full pricing and specification details for the latest Fiat Punto. The starting price for an entry level model will be £9,990 on the road, for the Pop 1.2-litre 8-valve version. At the other end of the price spectrum is the 1.3-litre MultiJet version which is priced at £15,600 on the road. The new Punto will go on sale in the UK later this month.

When it is first launched the Punto will be sold with a choice of six Euro 5 engines, all of which are fitted with Start & Stop technology as standard to reduce fuel consumption. An additional TwinAir version is scheduled for release in April.

Three main trim levels will be available for the new Punto, similar to those already available on the Fiat 500. These are Pop, Easy, and Lounge. In addition to these three trim levels there will also be a sports version, based on the Easy trim level, called GBT.

The external styling of the Punto sees only minor changes for the 2012 model, including three new colours - Brit Pop Blue, Tango Red and Underground Grey, plus fully colour coded front and rear bumpers. On the inside the new Punto features sportier looking seat fabrics, and new dashboard inserts.

The entry level Pop trim includes remote central locking, driver and passenger airbags, window airbags, electric power steering and an audio system with radio, CD player and MP3 player. The mid-level Easy trim also includes air conditioning and 15 inch alloy wheels. The GBT sports version adds to the Easy trim with sports suspension plus rear and side skirts. The highest level Lounge trim includes climate control, cruise control, electric sunroof, ambient interior lighting and front fog lamps.
