Ferrari is expected to reveal the replacement for the California on 12 February, ahead of the car's official public unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

A teaser image released by the company confirms that the new 149M Project will receive its world premiere next Wednesday. And given that the California's production code is F149, it's a fairly safe bet that what we're going to see will be an updated version of the company's folding hard-top grand tourer, with the extra 'M' standing for Modificado.

Unfortunately, Ferrari has yet to reveal any details on the new California; however, it has been widely speculated that the old car's 454bhp 4.3-litre V8 has been ditched in favour of the 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 which Ferrari already builds for Maserati to use in the Quattroporte. If so, expect the new Cali to produce somewhere in the region of 550bhp -- a 100bhp improvement over the current model.

We'll have to wait until next week to find out more.
