Euro 2012 is upon us and football fever has gripped the nation.
And to celebrate tonight's match between England and France, we've imagined how the game would play out if each country put eleven of its top motors on the field to battle it out for glory.
England
Up front is the McLaren MP4-12C making its debut appearance for England. With 593bhp, England will be hoping that the young hopeful from Berkshire can punch holes in the French team's defence. Joining the McLaren in attack are the super-agile Ariel Atom and the Caterham RS500. The team's skipper, the Aston Martin DBS, heads the midfield, flanked by the MINI Coupe John Cooper Works and the Lotus Exige. In defence, the Jaguar XFR and the Bentley Continental GT will be hoping to thwart any attempts made by the Frenchies, and are backed up by the Rolls-Royce Phantom and the 2.8-litre Vauxhall Insignia. The 510bhp Range Rover V8 completes the line-up in goal.
France
France are very much the underdogs in this battle and will be pinning their hopes on their star striker, the Bugatti Veyron, and the 253mph leviathan will be taking every opportunity to slot one past England's Range Rover. Peugeot's RCZ won't be far behind and is joined by the PGO Speedster and the 1,000bhp Genty Akylone. It's an all-Renault midfield, with the Clio 200 Cup and the Twingo 133, and there's another Renaultsport in the French defence too, with the Megane 265 Cup joined by the Pug 308 GT, the 3.0-litre Citroen C6 and the Renault Laguna GT. In goal, there's Renault's huge Espace -- England's front line will have a job getting past this seven-seat monster.
Result
England 4 - 1 France
After an impressive early goal from the Veyron, England surged ahead thanks to a couple of terrific strikes from the young McLaren. At half-time, the score was 2-1 to England. France fell to pieces in the second half and the Ariel Atom used its impressive 0-62mph time to demolish the French defence and make it 3-1. The Twingo was sent off in the 72nd minute after a dodgy tackle on the MINI JCW and the McLaren completed a hat-trick in the closing minutes to seal France's fate.
