Dacia has revealed the price-list for a new off-road version of the Sandero supermini: the Dacia Sandero Stepway.
The Stepway is a more rugged, utilitarian version of Britain's cheapest car, featuring 40mm more ground clearance, extensive plastic cladding, chrome roof bars, front and rear scuff plates and 16-inch alloy wheels.
Unlike the standard Sandero, the Stepway comes with a decent amount of standard equipment. Entry-level Ambiance versions come with Bluetooth, metallic paint and a CD player, while top-of-the-range Laureate models get air conditioning, a chrome front grille, full electric windows and heated door mirrors.
Two engines are on offer in the new Stepway: a 0.9-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol unit developing 90bhp and returning 52.3mpg and 125g/km of CO2, and a 1.5-litre diesel which manages 70.6mpg and 105g/km CO2.
The Dacia Sandero Stepway will be available to order from 1 January 2013, before arriving in Dacia showrooms in May.
Oh yes, and the price. The Sandero Stepway will cost from £7,995 -- £2,000 more than the cheapest Sandero.
