A female driver has been sent to prison for four years and three months for ramming a pedestrian with her car.

Suzanne Gilchrist, 37, drove for around 300 metres with 22-year-old Stuart Morris on the bonnet of her Ford Focus as she fled from a store detective in Falkirk, Scotland.

The incident was captured on CCTV and Gilchrist was forced to stop after she was held up by traffic.

Gilchrist was pregnant at the time and tried to blame her irrational behaviour on a "hormonal imbalance."

Mr Morris was taken to hospital after the incident with spinal bruising. He was not seriously hurt.
