A sleeping couple were rudely awoken after an out-of-control Lexus veered off the road and crashed into their upstairs bedroom.

The couple were asleep in their bedroom in the early hours of Sunday morning when the vehicle crashed into their home in Epsom, Surrey, completely destroying one side of the property.

Amazingly, the couple were unhurt, and the three male occupants of the silver Lexus were taken to hospital with only minor injuries.

It is believed that the car came round a bend and collided with an Audi before smashing into the house.

One neighbour explained the crash, saying: "It sounded like a plane coming out the sky. I think the car flew about 80ft before it came to rest in the side of the house."
