New research has found that British drivers consider the warranty services from Toyota and Lexus to be the fairest within the UK motor industry.

According to the latest survey by the National Franchised Dealers Association's (NFDA), Toyota and Lexus provided the fairest warranty service for both dealers and customers in the winter period of 2011.

Both Japanese brands were the best rated among the whole British motoring market, and showed their commitment to continue providing customers the best quality service across their Centre networks.

The conclusions of this study, which is an industry-recognised picture of attitudes and performance in the retail motor trade, reveal the views of the retail motor industry professionals from all UK franchises.

Jon Williams, President and Managing Director of Toyota GB PLC, commented on the survey:

"The results of the latest NFDA survey area a great seal of approval for the way in which Toyota and Lexus conduct their warranty business. The survey reflects the views of dealers across the industry, not just Toyota or Lexus, making it an especially strong endorsement."

Toyota stands out from the crowd

Despite both car firms recording very good results, Toyota is still maintaining its leadership on warranty fairness since winning the accolade in the winter of 2010.

Lexus, in contrast, is leading at the top for the first time, after being placed second in previous editions of this survey.

Toyota gives car buyers a protection package of five years/100,000 miles, while Lexus offers it at three years/60,000 miles for all its models. The study, however, not only considers these facts, but also looks at the efficient way in which warranty claims are dealt with, including the appropriate technical support.

Recently, Toyota and Lexus also celebrated being the leaders for Britain's fleet managers in key areas such as 'quality and reliability' and 'service, maintenance and repair costs.'

These are, according to the 2011 Fleet Operator Attitude Survey, the most important considerations for fleet customers when choosing vehicles.
