A 1992 Honda NSX once owned by three-times Formula One World Champion Ayrton Senna is going under the hammer.
The car, which has covered just 31,800 miles, is expected to fetch between £75,000 and £85,000 when it goes up for sale next month.
The NSX was originally purchased by Senna's friend and manager Antonio Carlos de Almeida Braga for Senna to use when he visited his home in Portugal. Following Senna's death at Imola in 1994, the car remained untouched at Braga's home for two years until it was bought by its current owner seventeen years ago.
Nick Whale, managing director, Silverstone Auctions, said: "Very rarely does a car with such pedigree and provenance come to market, especially with such a powerful and personal link to arguably the greatest F1 driver of all time, and as such, we're incredibly excited to offer it for auction."
The Honda NSX was introduced in 1990 and featured a mid-mounted 3.0-litre V6 engine which sent its power to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox. Senna himself was involved in the development of the car, helping to fine-tune the NSX's suspension settings.
The NSX will go under the hammer at the Silverstone Auctions' Race Retro & Classic Car Sale on 22 February.
