Audi has revealed innovative new car lighting technology, which consists of thousands of tiny red and yellow lights which react to the movements of the car.

The taillight concept, named 'The Swarm' after its resemblance to a swarm of fish, is formed from an array of OLEDs (organic light-emitting diodes) and is designed to provide more information to following drivers than traditional rear lights.

When the car turns to the right or left, the dots flow in the direction the car is turning. When the car is accelerating, the number of dots increases and they move around faster; under braking, the dots slow down and move towards the top of the car.

So, what do you think of the Swarm concept? Is it a good idea, or a distracting and unnecessary evolution of traditional rear lights?
